An electrical part that allows a wire to be physically and electrically connected to another part with a bolt or screw. The typical ring terminal consists of a small, vaguely T-shaped piece of sheet metal with its cross piece bent into a cylindrical shape to be crimped onto the wire and its "trunk" rounded at the bottom and punched with a hole for the connector. The cylindrical section is usually covered with a plastic insulator which is color coded to indicate wire and connector size. Some very small ring terminals don’t have the insulator.
