Singing in the fog (poetry)

And it slowed down

And it never hit the ground

The fog came down and never hit the ground

Remember when you were a kid

And you'd wake up to the fog

Sliding through the window seal

To brush your sheets

And there was that bird you heard

So cloaked in the fog

The fog that came down and never felt the ground

Ten years later you wake in the same sound

But you're somewhere else

And there's someone with you

You smoke now, you don't want to get up

The fog is so foul now

The fog that came down and touched the ground

You scream and you don't know what to do

The papers file in and they know what to do

You can't quit now, why quit now

And then there was that bird you heard

So cloaked in the fog

The fog that cleared out and left the ground
