The "ninternet" is a term primarily used by and to describe all the Nine Inch Nails-related websites, FTPs, USENET groups, and IRC channels on the Internet. Appears as ninternet, NINternet, or NIИternet. Obviously, the term is created by the combination of the acronym for Nine Inch Nails (NIN or NIИ if you can use the HTML entity) and the word internet. The "NIN" isn't always capitalised as prior to 1997's "The Perfect Drug" Versions, all Nine Inch Nails releases used no capital letters (except one single: Sin). As a result, quite a few fan-run NIИ sites don't make use of capital letters (at least one even going so far as to set up its message board to convert all capital letters to lower case in the posts).
