The path that each sheet of paper must travel within a printer, photocopier, or other printing apparatus. Any obstruction in the paper path, such as a torn edge of a piece of paper or a loose roller, can cause your paper to jam. The more complicated the paper path, the more likely this is to happen -- which is why the fancy photocopier that sorts, folds, and staples your work is more likely to be out of service than the old, simple, non-duplex unit down the hall.
