screwdriver (thing)

There are several different kinds of screwdriver. The difference between them is in the shape of the bit, which must match the notch or hole on the type of screw the driver is to be used with.

• Flathead screwdriver -- the old standard, and just as bad today as ever.
• Phillips screwdriver -- commonly used on computers and other equipment.
• Robertson screwdriver -- popular in Canada; sometimes also used in assembling furniture.
• Hex driver -- hexagonal; the straight equivalent of an Allen wrench.
• Nut driver -- an inside-out hex driver.
• Torx driver -- the funky star-shaped one used on things you aren't supposed to open
• Secure Torx driver -- the even funkier one used on things you really aren't supposed to open, like a PowerBook.
