This song found on Pink FLoyd's 1967 Debut release, Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Spacy (obviously) and hard rocking, this song puts any notion that the Beatles were leading the psychedlic rock genre at the time.

This song is based on the central riff from Love's cover of Burt Bacharach's Little Red Book. Rumor has it that the evolution into what was recorded occured because Syd Barrett was so high on heroin when he heard the original track. Barrett tried to play along, and Interstellar was created.

Aptly titled, this song has the feeling of flying through space and might have been apt to play as a soundtrack for some of the space flight scenes in Stanley Kubrick's 2001.
