Other commonly used vocal excerises (usually warm ups for the singer) include some of the most annoying sounds in the world, even to the singer.

Many are simple arpeggios or scales with word patterns assigned to them. For example:

"Me-e, Meh-eh, Mah-ah, Moh-oh, Moo" is usually assigned the note pattern of "Do, Mi, Re, Fa, Mi, So, Fa, Re, Do", or for those who use numbers instead of note syllables: "1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 5, 4, 2, 1". This pattern is usually used to stretch into your higher range, and is repeated multiple times starting in progressively higher keys.

"Double Bubble, Double Bubble, Double Bubble, Double Bubble Gum" - This is sung quickly on the notes "So, so, so, so,Fa, fa, fa, fa, Mi, mi, mi, mi, Re, re, re, re, Do." (5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1). This is used to work on enunciation and quick lyrics. One who cannot sing this can most certainly not sing, for example, "Modern Major General" from the Pirates of Penzance.

Another one used for the same purpose as the bubble gum chant is "Mommy made me mash my MnM's" The only variance between the two is the first four notes are sung only once, not twice (5, 5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1).

There are many many more, all just as annoying and one would THINK just as useless. Our directors swear the vocalizations improve sound, though most singers think the director have us do them just for shits and giggles.
