Pat Benatar was born Pat Andrzejewski in Brooklyn on 10 January 1953. She got the Grammy for best female rock vocalist four years in a row, and trained in opera singing. Her producer, guitarist, and husband is Neil Giraldo (or Geraldo as he was on earlier discs). They have daughters Haley (b. 1985) and Hana (b. 1994).

Her first album was In the Heat of the Night in 1979, which contained a number of popular tracks: the quirky My Clone Sleeps Alone, the smooth We Live For Love, and Heartbreaker, If You Think You Know How To Love Me, and So Sincere. She co-wrote "So Sincere" and "My Clone Sleeps Alone".

Her 1980 album Crimes of Passion contains these tracks:

  1. Treat Me Right (she co-wrote this)
  2. You Better Run
  3. Never Wanna Leave You (she co-wrote this)
  4. Hit Me With Your Best Shot
  5. Hell Is For Children (she co-wrote this)
  6. Little Paradise
  7. I'm Gonna Follow You
  8. Wuthering Heights
  9. Prisoner of Love
  10. Out-A-Touch (she co-wrote this)
And yes she does do it (fractionally) better than Kate Bush.

The 1981 Precious Time contained the single Fire And Ice. Other albums include Get Nervous (1982), and Gravity's Rainbow (1993), and a number of others in between that no-one much liked.
