Rabbitbrush, or Chrysothamnus, is a plant which grows in the deserts of the Southwestern US. It is in the Aster family and thus has flowers that look like daisies or dandylions, only smaller. When these are blooming they turn the desert yellow and are quite scenic. Other than this, this plant isnt much to look at and not as pretty or fragrant as sagebrush. They are called rabbitbrush, supposedly, because they smell like rabbit urine when wet. (the smell of the desert after a rain is awesome but the component added by this plant isnt much to write home about) Nevertheless, in the high, cold deserts of California and Nevada this stuff is everywhere, you couldnt get rid of it if you tried. You could use it as a landscape plant if you lived in one of these desert areas.. but it's not much to look at.
