Optical Storage Techology Association is a international organization that represents the business interests of the manufactures of optical storage drives and media. This particular trade association is less violent than many of its peers; it focuses on defining standards rather than anticompetitive actions such as strongarming competitive technologies. It is responsible for managing UDF, MultiPlay, MultiRead, and MultiAudio certification programs.

The OSTA is controlled by 12 full members and 40 associate members. The core membership group includes major technology companies such as HP, Sony, Pioneer, Ricoh, Philips, and Panasonic as well as companies focused on the optical storage market such as Imation, Roxio, and Verbatim.
