Trimethylol Propane (thing)

Trimethylol Propane(C₂H₅C(CH₂OH)₃), also known as TMP (1,1,1 –tris(hydroxymethyl) propane and 2-ethyl, 2-hydroxymethyl-1, 3 propanediol), is provided as an odorless, nontoxic, white, low melting solid with three primary hydroxyl groups. It is prepared through an aldol condensation of formaldehyde and n-butylaldehyde in the presence of alkali.

STORAGE: TMP is hygroscopic, easily absorbing moisture. It should be stored in a dry area. Combustible.
