A form of drill in military areas where a routine is planned out in advance for a number of troops. The officer or NCO in charge of the squadron or group need only give one command for this routine to be executed: 'Continue'.
Continuity drill is considered the purest form of drill, in that it requires teamwork and cooperation in order to look right. It is often performed to music, as this allows paticipants to guage their speed and timing better.
There are variants of continuity drill such as 'drill dance', which involves less movement but still needs concentration on rhythm to succeed.
Continuity drill is seen at many state occasions because of its impressiveness and the effort involved in acheiving a good display.
