Of course everyone knows what happened on September 11, 2001. However, those events portray the most evil that man can create. Out at Carnegie Mellon University, a different story took place.

What is assumed the most apathetic campus in the nation provided an outpouring of sympathy. There was a blood drive, counselors, and an auditorium with students watching the news. Later in the evening, a gathering of students congregated near the Fence to have a candle light service. After student government officials spoke the mic was left open for anyone who wished to speak. With such a diverse campus, there was a variety of people. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Americans, Asian-Americans, Arab-Americans, and each spoke about peace. There was no blame set on anyone.

What affected me the most was that everyone united as Americans at CMU. We are very diverse, but we united as a race of humans. I believe the same thing happened in the Everything2 Chatterbox. Everything is truly a community. As I've seen with the NYC and DC Noder Watch and the sympathy poured out for those people and the late Hermetic. Thank you for restoring my faith in the human race.
