is text. Is art only something that involves
paint and
canvas? What about
poetry and
prose,
calligraphy,
Japanese and
Chinese writing? Arabic calligraphy was, is, and can be made into the shape of animals and other figures, as seen in many Islamic texts and pictures. That is
art, that is writing, and if it couldn't be explained then there would be no
literature classes. Graffiti art is words represented creatively, even. It's a matter of the perception of what exactly art is, and whether words are less of an artform than
visual representations. Is there also art in the process of creating art? Explaining how someone made something or what it is made of can have meaning, as well. If anything, "art", in this case, is a word that
is being used
reductively.
