Sea Shepherd Conservation Society was formed when Canadian Paul Watson (described by the Japanese Government as a dangerous maverick), left Greenpeace because he advocated ramming whaling ships (he was one of the founders of Greenpeace as well).

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a non-governmental organization (NGO), based in Malibu, CA, working on the investigation and documentation of violations of international laws, regulations and treaties protecting marine wildlife species.

Known for their radical (ship ramming) activities on the seven seas, they have several boats in their fleet including:

OCEAN WARRIOR
SIRENIAN
MIRAGE Sea Shepherd's own Yellow Submarine

Currently according to bbc.com filming on Ocean Warrior is about to start. The film, produced by Pete Kroonenburg, will document the story of Mr. Watson after he left Greenpeace.

Martin Sheen, who has agreed to play a role in Ocean Warrior, described Mr. Watson as "by far the most knowledgeable, dedicated and courageous environmentalist alive today".
