16 Air Assault Brigade (thing)

16 Air Assualt Brigade is part of Great Britians Rapid Reaction Force, along with 3 Cdo Brigade (made up entirely of Royal Marines). 16 Air Assualt Brigade was made by an amalgamation of 5 Airborne Brigade and 24 Airmobile Brigade.

16 Air Assault Brigade consists of

• 2 Parachute Infantry Regiments (from the Parachute Regiment)
• 1 Line Infantry Regiment (As an Airmobile Infantry Assest)
• Armoured Fighting and Recce (A Squadron from the Household Cavalry)
• Air Assualt Avation (3 and 4 Regiment AAC and RAF Helicopter Sections)
• 1 Parachute Artillery Regiment, and a Air Defence Battery (7 RHA Parachute Gunners)
• Signals Detachment (216 Parachute Signal Squadron)
• Engineer Detachment (9 Parachute Enginner Regiment, and 51 Indipentdent Field Squadron)
• Logistical Support (13 Air Assualt Support Regiment and 154 Provost Company RMP)
• Medics (16 Close Support Medical Regiment)
• Equipment Support (7 Battalion REME)
• Special Forces (Pathfinder Platoon)

As you can see for a fighting force of 5 Battalions + 1 Squadron of armour + 1 Special forces Platoon, the logistical needs are massive. The entire Brigade is capable of delopying at short notice, and the Parachute Infantry within 48 hours.
