Two children are playing at a construction site.
GIRL
We shouldn't be in here! Let's go!
BOY
OK, follow me!
He jumps out of a house frame, over a small gully filled
with gravel, and onto the ground, no more than five feet
away. The girl does not want to jump.
BOY
Whatsamatta, you chicken?
GIRL
I can't jump that far!
BOY
OK, chicken, I'm leaving you here.
Suddenly, a woman in combat fatigues appears, clutching a
spear.
WOMAN
Use your head, Sally!
GIRL
LADY JAYE!
LADY JAYE
There's nothing chicken about being smart! If
you stop and think, there's almost always a better
way!
The girl drags a plank of wood from inside the house frame and lays it
over the gully.
GIRL
I'll use this plank!
BOY
That's usin' your head!
GIRL
Instead of losing it! Now I know!
LADY JAYE
And knowing is half the battle!
