A series of artificial markings and doodles made on a vast scale on top of the Nazca Desert along the coast of Peru, made by the pre-Inca Nazca people. They were made on such a scale to be incomprehensible at ground level but from the air they quite clearly outlined stylized animals and characters similar to those painted on their pottery. The Nazcas didn't have the ability to see the drawings from above - so who were they making them for?
