Indie rock trio from Detroit, Michigan. Small Craft Sighting (SCS) is comprised of Joe Kirkland (bass/vocals), Chris Nagarah (guitar), and Courtney Cahill (drums).

The members first met as students at Our Lady of Sorrows grade school in Farmington, Michigan in the 1980s. The group, originally a quartet with Eric Gutman on vocals from 1993-1999, has a promising future as a trio, as evidenced by the four songs on their self-released CD EP entitled "Lyndon". Kirkland writes the lyrics and collaborates with guitarist Nagarah on the music. Influences include: Sunny Day Real Estate, U2, Foo Fighters, Superchunk, Jawbreaker, Get Up Kids, Knapsack, Texas Is The Reason, Smashing Pumpkins, Our Lady Peace, Jimmy Eat World.
