An annual .22 shooting competition presumably affiliated with the newspaper from which it takes its name, the News of the World competition is open to cadet forces from around the United Kingdom. The trophy awarded dates back to 1944 and currently resides with the 2011 competition winners, Bridgwater Platoon, ACF.

A team of five (four and a reserve) sends NSRA 10 spot cards shot on their local range for the first two rounds, at which point the top two teams from each cadet force (ACF, ATC, sea cadets) are invited to attend the final at Bisley in Surrey.
