cataphoresis'. A fluid-soaked membrane may be used instead of a fluid or (fluid-soaked) gel; this is
membrane electrophoresis (...
gel electrophoresis, in the case of the gel).
I will refrain from making the lamentable observation that "electrophoresis is chromatography with potential".
