1984 movie
Places in the Heart, Sally Field made an
exuberant and often
mocked acceptance
speech which ended with the line, "I can't deny the fact that you like me! You really really like me!"
The corniness of it made it an immediate catch phrase in the months and years that followed. During the 2000 Ocscars, Charles Schwab debuted a commercial featuring Sally muttering her famous line to her broker.
