(Before we get started, there was another band of Softies that were some late-70's new wavers from Britain. Info. is scarce, so help out if you like. In fact, the band I'm about to talk about named themselves after the crazies. Kooky!)

After Rose Melberg disbanded both Tiger Trap and Go, Sailor!, she relocated to Portland and met up with Jen Sbragia, who worked on Pretty Face fanzine. They started up the Softies together, and issued their first single, "Loveseat" on Slumberland Records. After that, Rose and Jen moved to K Records (Rose's old label as Tiger Trap and Go!) and issue their debut, "It's Love." Unsurprisingly, it and all subsequent efforts are dreamy, melodic, and warm twee-pop. Also an album by the group.
