Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of the Girl Scouts USA, in Savannah, Georgia in 1912. She was born on October 31, 1860. Her full name was Juliette Magill Kinzie Gordon Low (Daisy). She spent most of her life in a boarding school. She was interested in sculpting. She married Willy Low on December 21, 1886 at age 26.

She was good friends with Sir Robert Baden-Powell (the founder of Boy Scouts). Her niece Daisy Gordon was the first Girl Scout in the U.S. Boy Scout leaders were unhappy when the Girl Scouts were first started because the Girl Scouts also used the term "scouts" for girls. Juliette died of cancer, on January 18, 1927, when she was 66 .
