Fallout 2 is the sequel to Fallout (duh!). Both were made by Black Isle and published by Interplay. Fallout 2 is a post-nuclear-apocalypse RPG, and thus, is certainly not meant for kids- it contains sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. That said, it's not only a great RPG, but contains more humorous references than you can shake an Iguana-on-a-Stick at.

Fallout 2 takes place well after the original, but their plots are closely intertwined, and you wind up visiting a few of the same locations. (Fallout 2's map is north of the original's) Therefore, finish the first one before you start this one.

Fallout 2, while using the same engine, also adds quite a few user-requested features, such as a vehicle and the ability for your NPC helpers to carry stuff for you.

Fallout 2 could almost be considered the third game in the series if you were to count the unofficial prequel, Wasteland.
