Board game from
Mayfair Games for 2-6 players. The game contains of a board with a map over
USA and
Canada (plus
Mexico in newer versions), on which
railroads are built by drawing with crayons. The object is to connect the biggest
North American cities by rail, earning money along the way. This is achieved by picking up and delivering
commodities.
Empire Builder is one of a series of games from Mayfair using the same concept. The others are (at the time of this writeup):
Eurorails, Iron Dragon, India Rails, Nippon Rails, British Rails, Austrailian Rails and Lunar Rails.
