Part of the great thing about Lacuna Coil is their incredible lyrical
catchiness and rather incredible musical skills. The
guitar solo in
"1.19" is one of the best I've heard in a long time... and Scabbia sure can sing! (not to mention being
drop-dead gorgeous...)
They really have made some amazing music, and are definitely worth checking out. I'd actually recommend Unleashed Memories as their best overall album, and Comalies as their second-best... In A Reverie is good, but it's not as "finished" as Unleashed is. While the duet of Scabbia's soaring voice and Ferro's growling may seem vaguely Miranda/Caliban-esque, it does work quite well at times. I doubt that her voice would sound as good without him, and his singing is really improved by hers.
