Parry Sound is a town in southern Ontario, Canada. The town proper is about 6000 residents strong, and the surrounding area brings this total up to about 14000. It is situated on Georgian Bay, just at the edge of the Canadian Shield. It is part of the "lakeland" region of Ontario, and is a trap for boating and fishing connoisseurs. The Huron First Nations themselves used the area of Parry Sound as a holiday land for more than 100 years before the arrival of Europeans. The Ojibway First Nations established a village, Wausakwasene(shining shore), at the delta of the Seguin River. In Parry Sound's waters, in Georgian Bay, there are many little islands, and the watery regions are often called the "30000 Islands".

Hometown of Bobby Orr.
