Kitsap was a war chief and medicine man under Chief Seattle (see Sealth). The name
means "brave." A county in Washington is also named after him. Kitsap is also the name of
an Issaquah 130 class ferry, in the service of the Washington State Ferry system, which
was built in Seattle, Washington in 1980.
