The stereotypical ending to a Scooby-Doo cartoon, where having caught the bad guy who's diguised as a monster or ghost, and bound him up with rope, the four kids (Freddy, Velma, Daphne & Shaggy) and their anthropomorphic dog Scooby, describe the detective process that has led to the baddie's capture. After detailing all the clues, the masked villain is revealed...
"Zoinks! It's old Mr. Jones, the fairground owner!"
"And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids and that darn dog!"
This ending is such a cliché that it's happily entered the zeitgeist and lodged itself there, and was famously lampooned in the film Wayne's World, which had three endings: the happy ending, the sad ending and the Scooby-Doo ending.
