There is a definite schism between the adherents of Utopian Socialism and Scientific Socialism; it was Marx who claimed to represent the latter, and such thinkers as Charles Fourier are generally considered to be the former. Even those who follow the classical anarchists, Bakunin and Kropotkin, consider themselves scientific socialists, yet they vehemently oppose Marxism. There are at least as many versions of Socialism as there are of Capitalism.
