Tourists' prices are the ridiculously
expensive prices shops and cafeés in
museums,
landmarks,
tours, and other touristic places charge to take advantage of the tourists who either don't know better or have no real
option. The phenomenon can often be noted in places where they get a lot of
foreign tourists, who may have trouble converting currencies and don't know how expensive the
price is.
An easy way to avoid paying tourists' prices is to watch the suspected locations and eat at the restaurants where the locals eat. Locals are intelligent enough to avoid tourists' prices and often provide a guide as to where it is safe to eat/shop.
