In Singapore, the age of consent is a bit iffy. A man having sex with a girl aged under 14 is considered statutory rape, regardless of whether she gives consent or not. Having sex with a girl aged under 16 is considered an offense of "carnal intercourse with an underage female" (less severe than rape but you're stuffed nonetheless), regardless of consent.

In Malaysia, the age of consent is 18, although Islamic couples must also be married.

In both countries, sex between homosexual men is illegal. Sex between homosexual women is less well defined.

In Australia, the age of consent varies between the various states. In Queensland, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory, the age of consent is 16 (heterosexual or homosexual). In Tasmania and South Australia, the age of consent is 17 (heterosexual or homosexual). In New South Wales, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, the age of consent is 16 for heterosexuals and lesbians but 18 for gay men.
