When I was a child, I would watch the movie "The Right Stuff." The best moments in that movie are when the hero, Chuck Yeager, flies a plane at speeds and altitudes no one had ever achieved before. All the shots showed Chuck's plane above the clouds. This inspired me.
Decades later, in my science, I thought things no one had thought before, understood things no one had ever understood before. After writing these ideas for publication, I thought of Chuck, alone, above the clouds.
Some of us look down, for approval. Some of us look up.
