An
architect who died in 1988 at the age of 57. His death was caused by
Beryllium poisoning.
Throughout his life, Harry C. Hersker built various structures similar to those depicted in Ayn Rand's masterpiece The Fountainhead. He worked as a pseudo-engineer on the initial drawings for the Titan spaceshuttle, that flew a monkey into outerspace. The latter 1950s Heinz Ketchup bottle was also a design that he was responsible for.
Mr. Hersker's greatest accomplishments were designing Bally's The Grand, The Tropicana, and the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ. The casino, "The Tropicana" had the first ever indoor amusement park for kids to utilize while the adults gambled.
His ancestors were of German origin and his great grandfather was a bodyguard to Kaiser Willhelm III.
Harry Hersker still has family living in northeastern,
Pennsylvania. Today, they live in a
modern home that was an original design by him.
