A group of (mostly) amateur comic artists who meet twice weekly at The Black Drop in Bellingham, Washington. The BS of Comics is officially short for the Bellingham School of Comics, but is also a pun or double entendre, with the abbreviation BS also possibly standing for Bachelor’s of Science or bullshit.
The BS is not a formal school, but rather more similar to an enlightenment salon. Members meet on an informal basis in order to draw comics, share advice, exchange ideas, show off, drink coffee, and generally bullshit. It is also handy having other artists around in case you run out of pencil lead or need to borrow an eraser.
The BS of Comics participated in the 2005 24 Hour Comics Day, for which Cosmic Comics kindly volunteered its hospitality, and intends to continue take part in this event in the future.
