A 13 day battle between the 6,000 man army of Gen. Santa Anna and the 184 defenders of The Alamo who included William Travis, and Davy Crockett, which fell with no survivors on 6-6-1836. The main reason we know about it and why it became the rallying cry of the war between Mexico and Texas is because a defender, Juan Seguin escaped before the fall and made his way to Sam Houston alerting him so he could bring Texas defenders to fight the Battle of San Jacinto.
