Celtic mythology - Welsh Cursed by his mother, Arianrhod, Lleu Llaw Gyffes would never possess a human wife. His uncle Gwidion and his father Math created a woman out of flowers. Although beautiful, she was unstable, amoral and treacherous because she lacked a soul. She took a lover and conspired to kill her husband, who in death, was transformed into an eagle. Because she couldn't be killed, she was condemned to life as an owl, shunned by other birds.
