A term used to describe the japanese artistic stylization of mechanical offensive weaponry. Quite often mecha are visualized as hybrid suits of armor to be worn by its human "mech-pilot".
Often, mecha can take the form of more recognized vehicles (such as heavily armored assault tanks or fighter planes) and given the ability to transform itself into a more humanoid resembling attack form.
Japanese mecha, as depicted in manga and animae, are often heavily armed with numerous types of futuristic weaponry. Mecha have an enormous capacity for mass destruction.
