dart gun (thing)

• Single action firing.
• Darts are loaded singly into the barrel, and the gun is manually cocked.
• Range between 2 and 8 meters (Earlier guns tend to longer ranges)
• Range can be increased by lightly oiling the barrel.
• Very accurate targetting.
• Push firing can increase the range by up to 10 meters (varies by strength and skill of the firer.
• Variant guns have multiple barrels or clips, usually with double action (semiautomatic) firing.

Dart guns are frequently used as a basic weapon in Patrol, SIK and Assassins' Guild games. These guns have a few, minor drawbacks:

• The effectiveness of the gun varies heavily with the skill of the user.
• Other types of weapons (disc guns, koosh ring guns, and larami guns) have far superior range and rate of fire.
• At close range, in the hands of a strong user, darts can leave welts.
