A subjective golfing term, but usually used to define a golf course which is difficult enough to keep a scratch golfer interested. Most of the "munnies" (municipal courses owned by cities and towns) do not qualify. Most Country Club courses do, unles they are out in the middle of nowhere. A championship course will usually have a course rating of at least 71 and a slope rating of at least 125 from the middle men's tees.
