A specific type of electronic music album where one artist spins a number of songs by different artists together together. The mixing can range from merely fading the songs together to creating entirely new pieces through heavy remixing. Most mix CDs have around 10-15 tracks, although some house albums push it up to 40 or so, allowing only a few minutes for each.

There's often series of mix CDs following a genre or record label. Mix CDs can range from the glorious (The K&D Sessions) to the decent (the Global Undergrounds and DJ Kicks series) to the unlistenable (Any album with Happy Hardcore in the title or only sold on TV). They're often your best value towards musical enjoyment, having so many artists in one.
