A mountain of regret (poetry)

 

 

 

 

People say I live in the past

as if they knew how I                                                                 was

or think I prefer the present

 

People tell me  

I talk too little about friends who are here;

too much about a person who is                                                                    not

 

Some think you still haunt me

they say I have

a mountain of regret

                                                                                                      I tell them you aren't that tall
