ARISTARCHUS
(air i stahr' huhs) GREEK: ARISTARCHOS
"best ruler"
_______________

A Jew from Thessalonica in Macedonia, Aristarchus was evidently converted to Christianity by Paul, who came to preach in the synagogue there about A.D. 50. The church in Thessalonica subsequently sent Aristarchus to join Paul's coworkers, and he labored with the apostle throughout Greece, Asia Minor, and Judea, and even accompanied him as a prisoner to Rome.
