Αλιαρτος

He and his brother Coronus were the sons of Thesandrus and grandsons of Sisyphus (Table 35). Their great-uncle Athamas, king of Orchomenus, had lost all his sons, and therefore left his kingdom to them. But later on, when Presbon, one of Phrixus' sons, came back from Colchis and claimed his grandfather's throne (for Phrixus was Athamas' son) Haliartus and Coronus surrendered the throne to him; they then left Orchomenus, and founded two cities, Haliartus and Coronea.
