pharynx (thing)

In the human anatomy, the pharynx is the common passageway that connects the nose, mouth and throat...also connecting with the ears via the Eustachian tubes. It is shared by the digestive and respiratory system.

The pharynx is divided into three regions:

• the nasopharynx
• the oropharynx
• the laryngopharynx
