This is
the book to get if you want to learn how to play
bluegrass banjo. It's written by the master himself,
Earl Scruggs.
At the beginning of the book is some banjo history, a short biography of Earl Scruggs, a section about banjos, some basic things about music, how to read tablature and the usual beginner's stuff.
Then comes a section with all the songs:
The song section is followed by a chapter entitled "How to build a banjo", which goes into great detail, and for those with good woodworking skills, is probably sufficient to actually allow the stated goal to be accomplished.
The book is accompanied by an unintentionally hilarious cassette tape in which Earl continually refers to fingers as "fangers" and warns of the dangers of your "fangers cramping up."
