A short film directed by Joe Nussbaum that presents a fictional account of George Lucas's last days at college. He must complete his script (tentatively titled Space Oats) in three days, or he won't graduate. We see him travel around college searching for inspiration, to no avail. Until he meets a girl with a distinctive "twin danish pastry" hairdo. This plot may seem a little flimsy (boy meets girl, boy writes space opera) but provides ample opportunities for imaginative Star Wars references. We see Lucas's stoner roommate explaining "the force", his ominous black-clad asthmatic neighbour, and the "inspirations" for various other elements and characters in the trilogy. It's pretty funny stuff, and very tightly produced. The film was released in 1999 to critical (and geek) acclaim.
