The Anti-Slam is an event that takes place at Collective Unconcious in Manhattan's Lower East Side. It starts at 7:45 on Wednesdays. It is hosted by Saint Reverend Jen Miller.
It is primarily an open-mic where anyone can walk in and get six minutes in front of an audience. Reverend Jen is fond of saying, "Don't be dicks. Say it in six."
The primary participants in this forum are bad comedians. They are usually self-indulgent which accounts for most of the lack of comedy that ensues.
When there isn't a comedian on stage, you may find a variety of performers doing their thing. It is not uncommon to see naked people, perfectly silent for six minutes people, or people painting their penises purple. Ok, well certain things are more common then others, but all of those things have happened at the Anti-slam.
