The manager of
Amy Ruth’s one of
Harlem’s oldest restaurants. He is also a member of a group of
beekeepers who live in
Manhattan. They raise
honeybees on the roofs of buildings and harvest the
honey. The fresh honey is used in his
Honey Bar-B-Q chicken at the restaurant. The bees also help to keep
New York's flowers and fruit gardens fertile.
Local kids who might not otherwise have the chance to learn about farming frequent the beehive of the roof of Amy Ruth’s.
Before he came to run the restaurant he was the chauffeur for both Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Carl is the kind of guy who seems to know everyone (and everyone knows him)
